There are a few boats in Kyrenia harbour that offer diving excursions and a number of diving schools now offer tuition and certification courses.

There are quite a number of rocky reefs along the northern shoreline that are interesting, while the most interesting site is undoubtedly the reef along the coast at Salamis, north of Famagusta, where the remains of the ancient city harbour can be explored, however divers should be aware that there are strict rules relating to the removal of antiques, and artefacts, and penalties are strict.
