[1] Pre-1974 Turkish (international) Title Freehold

This is the type of property that was owned by Turkish Cypriots or Foreign Nationals, other than Greeks or Greek Cypriots, prior to 1974. These properties are considered to be 'International Freehold' and are the most demanded type, being 100% free of any type of claims.

[2] TRNC Freehold

These were owned by the Greek Cypriots prior to 1974 and were given to Turkish Cypriot citizens either in exchange of the properties that they had left in South Cyprus on an equal swap basis or were awarded for their use for economical development reasons. According to the last version of the United Nations sponsored Annan Plan for reunification, buyers of these types of properties are 'perfectly safe' being free of any type of claims, as they have paid for these properties.

[3] Leasehold Title

This type of properties are owned by the government. Long-term leases are granted for 49 years.
